DraftKings Pivot Plays for The Wyndham Championship 2021
We've scoured the DraftKings GPP ownership projections looking for the names that are setting up to be extremely popular in GPP tournaments. More importantly, I'm going to tell you about 2 other players with as much upside at significantly less projected ownership. Ownership leverage and equal or greater upside from the players we're pivoting away from is the name of the game every week for the Pivot Point article.
Popular DraftKings GPP Plays & Pivots
Zach Johnson $7,500 - 8% projected
I used to never play ZJ in DFS, but now I find myself playing him in certain spots. He hasn’t played much lately with only 8 rounds in the last two months, but during that time, he's 2nd in opportunities gained, 14th in fairways, and 12th in approach. I like his chances to convert his opportunities this week as he’s one of the best Bermuda putters in this field sitting at 6th in the last 50 rounds. ZJ has 4/4 made cuts at the Wyndham in his career, and shot a 3rd round 61 last year on his way to a T7. Sitting at 107th in the FedEx Cup, ZJ needs a good finish this week and I think he finds another top 10.
Mark Hubbard $7,000 - 3% projected
Sitting at 143rd in the FedEx Cup, time is of the essence for Mark Hubbard. Hubbs is going to need a high finish this week to have a chance at the playoffs, but he’s teeing it up at a place where he has decent history with a T15 in 2020 and a T24 in 2017.
In the last two months across 22 rounds, Hubbard is 6th in fairways hit, 20th in approach, and 10th in DK scoring. While it isn’t his best surface, Hubbard is still above average on tour sitting at 30th in strokes gained putting on Bermuda in the last 50 rounds. I’ll be eating some chalk up top this week, and need some leverage to fill out my lineups. I’m rooting for Hubbs to make a run at the playoffs.
