This is NOT Your Mama's Betting Article
I bet on golf for fun. You should too. Life is too short to bet favorites! Therefore, I don't get the betting erection I crave betting guys at 18/1 or 9/1. I realize that may be the sharper way to do things, but F that. I've felt the rush of have a big triple digit winning golf bet hit...and Daddy likes!
Throughout the season, I'm going to show you my pre tournament bets, including what I'm risking, odds, and some brief logic behind the pick. I'm actually betting these guys. I'm taking $50 a week at $10 per unit to show you how I allot my dollars. Follow along, bet with me if you like, or completely fade everyone on this betting card. Up to you. However...I will say...I hit 5 bets in 2019 at 100/1 or longer. I finished the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season up 10 units over 30 weeks strictly betting the long shots (nothing shorter than 25/1).

Long Shot Outright Bets for The Wyndham Championship 2021
It looks to be rather overcast, hot and very little wind for the Wyndham Championship. The only real threat of wind or rain comes on Sunday, but a lot could change by then.
The sportsbooks have the winning score line around -20.5. It's been between -20 and -22 since the redesign and there's no reason it won't get there again.
This is a tournament filled with variance. 5 of the last 8 winners have been at triple digit odds, and one of the other three was at 80/1. This is also an event where 1st timers can get it done. Throw in all of that with the FedEx cup standings, PGA TOUR status rankings, etc...and you've got a lot of variables.
For this reason, I'm going to give myself plenty of outs on this card with nothing but mid range picks and bombs. Being nothing shorter than 25/1 goes on this card anyway...there just wasn't a lot that gets me going between 26/1 and my first bet in the mid range.
Since the new 2020-2021 season started in September, we've hit 11 outright winners all over 25/1 and 3 first round leaders at 125/1 documented in this article or on Pat's "Not That Anyone Really Cares" betting card (posted on the Nut Hut and on Twitter). This article is now up 56 units since September. It ain't for betting favorites and it ain't for small balled bettors.
I told ya it was a big card with 11 outrights, but I want a good bit of exposure due to the variance. I don't see any real edge on Thursday and therefore no need for a first round leader bet. Gooch, Lebioda, Schenk, Hubbard, & Norlander would be first time winners if they close the door this week. Dahmen and KH Lee have won in the last 2 months, and Villegas has won this tournament.
These guys are all arriving in solid form and most are either deadly accurate fairway finders or hit more fairways than Tour average. I think Dahmen, Norlander and KH Lee are the most mis-priced in my opinion and I'm happy to jump on these numbers as Joel was 100/1 on Monday and KH was 250/1.
It's #LongShotSZN for the Wyndham Championship! Let's grow our UNITS!
