Betting Outrights for The Waste Management Phoenix Open 2022
The Betting Approach for The Waste Management Phoenix Open 2022
Well, we just missed our 3rd outright bomb in a row as Putnam, Dahmen, McCarthy and Sigg all had a chance on Sunday, but couldn't run down Tom Hoge. We're big fans of Tom, so although we're bummed we missed his first...we were glad to see him get it done. The PGA Tour heads to TPC Scottsdale for the Waste Management this week, and the field is hotter than Pat's temper.
The sportsbooks have the O/U winning score line set at -18.5. The weather looks pretty perfect and we're hearing that conditions are fairly firm and fast. However, there is a chance that wind comes into play, so you'll want to check with us in the Nut Hut and make sure you read the Chalk Bomb email late Wednesday for any wave advantages.

This is NOT Your Mama's Betting Article
I bet on golf for fun. You should too. Life is too short to bet favorites! Therefore, I don't get the betting erection I crave betting guys at 18/1 or 9/1. I realize that may be the sharper way to do things, but F that. I've felt the rush of have a big triple digit winning golf bet hit...and Daddy likes!
Throughout the season, I'm going to show you my pre tournament bets, including what I'm risking, odds, and some brief logic behind the pick. I'm actually betting these guys. I'm taking $50 a week at $10 per unit to show you how I allot my dollars. Follow along, bet with me if you like, or completely fade everyone on this betting card. Up to you. I finished the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season up 10 units over 30 weeks & the 2020-2021 season up 41 units strictly betting the long shot outrights and first round leaders (nothing shorter than 25/1).
Long Shot Outright Bets for The Waste Management Phoenix Open 2022
Just because we missed 3 in a row doesn't mean the heater is over people! I'm still feeling good and we've got a bunch of boots on the ground in Arizona dishin out intel. We've had just 1 triple digit odds winner here since 2010 (shout out Kevin Stadler), and given the strength at the top of this field...I see that trend continuing for 2022.
When we've got a field like this and a tournament that tends to see the cream rise to the top, you'll typically see me with a much tighter card. I'm living in this mid range for The People's Open. Let's get to the picks!
Given the tee time advantage for the PM/AM wave, I'm firing on the first round leader option for the first time since 2022. Remember, most FRL bets have dead heat rules applied in the likely event that there's a tie. Plus, 1 round of golf entails a ton of variance. So...given those 2 things, I tend to go big or go home with FRL bets.
In terms of the outrights, all of these names, with the exception of Burns, are PM/AM guys. You can't sweat an outright if they don't make the weekend. The real job is getting in the way today, so I'm going to have to defend my picks in the Nut Hut if you have questions.
Alright, off to write the Chalk Bomb! Have a great week and #BendOverYourBookie!
