Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: 2023 PGA Championship
What’s up, Golf Addicts?
Vincenzo “Money” Margiotta back this week for The 2023 PGA Championship Sunday Parlay. We’ve witnessed a wild three days in Rochester for the year’s second major. The LIV guys came to play for the second time in as many chances and we’ve also seen some seasoned veterans climb up the leaderboard. Oak Hill has lived up to every expectation we had coming into the week. The course has played difficult, but the golfers who’ve kept the ball in the fairway, see themselves with a chance to lift the Wanamaker trophy on Sunday.
Brooks and the Chasers!
Brooks Koepka has the 54-hole lead for the second straight major championship in 2023. With a 66 on both Friday and Saturday, the 4-time major champion has been navigating Oak Hill’s difficult test and making it look easy. The stage is set for another dramatic Sunday and for those behind Koepka, the goal needs to be flawless, mistake-free golf. Viktor Hovland, who has been trending in majors of late, is one stroke back of the lead and needs to clean up his play on the greens if he wants a chance to win. Hovland can put pressure on Brooks early by hitting fairways and peppering greens, but he needs to avoid mistakes.
Behind those two are Corey Conners, Bryson, and Justin Rose. All have withstood the test of Oak Hill but bogeys are around every corner. Scottie Scheffler and Rory round out the top 7 and need to post low scores on Sunday to give themselves a chance to win. Outcome aside, we are looking forward to an exciting Sunday with aggressive play from the chasers. I’m targeting three golfers, all within at least one stroke of the cashing finishing position. The course might be intimidating, but these three golfers know how to do it in big spots.

Finishing Position Picks to Parlay
Top 5: Scottie Scheffler (-190 DraftKings)
Scottie had a tough day on Saturday. The putter was cold, he got behind early, and the conditions gave him trouble. Despite shooting a 73, Scottie was still third in the field Off the Tee during the round. For the tournament, he is 4th in Ball Striking and tied for 5th in Bogey Avoidance. I like a bounce-back on Sunday for the world’s number 2 player. It might not be enough to get past the leaders for the victory but I’m loving the odds for a top 5 finish.
Top 10: Tommy Fleetwood (+150 DraftKings)
Tommy Lad has quietly lingered under the radar the first three days in Rochester. We’ve seen the Englishman pop up on Major leaderboards in the past, and his form this season has been very good. I have vivid memories of Shinnecock in 2018 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fleetwood chasing down Brooks late on Sunday. On the week Tommy is top-10 Tee-to-Green, tied for 5th in Bogey Avoidance with Scottie, and 4th in Greens in Regulation. That is a recipe for success on difficult courses. After seeing a resurgence of the “Vets” like Jason Day and Justin Rose this season, I LOVE the number for Tommy to continue his good play and land us a top-10 finish.
Top 20: Patrick Cantlay (-165 DraftKings)
Cantlay came into this week as a big favorite with a lot of exposure in both the betting and DFS markets. He put himself in a hole early but has respectably crept his way back up the leaderboard. In round 3, Paddy Ice was 2nd in strokes gained Off-the-Tee and the ball-striking numbers were in the top 5. We consistently see Cantlay near the top of the world rankings because of his ability to stay relevant in big tournaments. Last year we saw Justin Thomas work his way from 7 strokes back to win. Cantlay will not be able to chase the leaders down but I like him to land on the first page of the leaderboard to close the championship.
The PGA Championship Sunday Parlay: +641 on DraftKings
The weather on Sunday looks like it should be easier on the players, but the wind remains and the course will get firm and fast. If you read Let’s Go Juicin this week, you know we are eyeing down a Brooks Koepka juiced-up victory. If you missed out on that nugget and your pre-tourney bets have dissolved into thin air, do yourself a favor and save that a$$ this week. Round 4 begins at 8:00 am EST so fire up this parlay and TAKE THOSE UNITS BACK!
