Around the Clubhouse
Welcome to your place for all the light-hearted golf content you need.  We will be going around the clubhouse, reacting to many of the viral golf moments of the past week.  From pro golf to your horrific swing, if it makes you laugh, then it may show up. This week we look into some of the best facial hair in golf, and discuss a nightmare hole at the Memorial Tournament. Stay tuned for this week's player to watch.  Grab your beer, and let's get into it.
Idiots driving golf carts
Golf carts can be very dangerous when alcohol is involved... just ask these guys! Â Seriously they are very lucky that nobody was seriously hurt because that could have ended much much worse than it did. Â If you're drinking enough to drive like that on a course, you must be having a rough round and should stick to the clubhouse bar instead of flipping carts.
The dudes laughing in the background is a bit frightening... I know they are just trying to have some fun on the course, but the poor guy was just checking out his lie, and he gets his legs taken out from under him, cartwheeling him into the air. Â Don't drive carts drunk, people. Â Have a few drinks on the links, but there's no need to down 7 Transfusions and be blacked out at the 5th hole. Â If that's how you roll, gotta get a caddie to be your designated cart driver.
Same thing goes for the other video... the driver is lucky he didn't get a driver to the head after that. Â Once the alcohol wears off, he is gonna be in serious pain and I'm gonna guess he won't be thrilled. Â It's all fun in games til someone snaps their arm or leg in half.
Who has the best facial hair in golf?
Hideki Matsuyama is growing out his playoff beard and it was looking fantastic this week. Â All the Deki beard talk on social media made me think about the extremely important question of what golfer has the greatest facial hair. Â Deki is rocking the Jason Day and JJ Spaun look with his beard and I am a fan!
EVR has some of the most well-known facial hair in golf with his stache. Â Now is it a super good look... that's for you to decide but the mustache is back and looking fantastic. Â I believe it is called a walrus stache, and those whiskers are thicccck.
Newcomer Carson Young has rushed onto the scene over the past few months, led by his unreal performance at the US Open qualifier in Dallas. Â Now what needs more attention is the look... the EVR-like whisker stache combined with the goatee is a 10/10. Â I think some credit for the look should go to Ben Stiller in Dodgeball, but either way, I love it, Carson.I hope we get to see more of that on tv over the next few weeks.
Although Lucas is no longer a bearded man, this look for Glover was an amazing one. Â That is the dream beard right there! Â So thick and the shape is perfect. Â My golly that is one sexy beard. Â Making all of South Carolina proud with that look. Â Although Deki's playoff facial hair is looking good, Glover had one of the most filled-in beards I've ever seen. Â Grow it out Lucas it's time to let it fly again!
Andres Gonzales spent time on the Canadian Tour as well as a spell on the PGA Tour, where he rocked the most interesting facial hair that has been seen on the course. Â It's like he's trying to replicate the Hullk Hogan stache. Â The neon green sunglasses add to the look, but the star of the show is one of the most enormous handles ever.
My guy must have had a Lucas Glover beard and he decided to shave his sideburns and goatee. Â Gotta be one of the more strange looks on a golf course compared to many of the preppy similar-looking dudes on tour.
Chad Ramey's 13 at the Memorial
Scoring was tough at the start of the Memorial Tournament... especially for a few guys on the 9th hole Thursday. Â 8 different golfers scored in the 80's in round one, a very rare feat. Â Ramey drove it to the middle of the fairway on his final hole of the round, but it all went downhill FAST from there.
As you can see from the image, Chad loves the water on a hot day! Â The poor guy found the water on his second shot. Â From about 45 yards out after dropping, Ramey put his next three approach shots into the agua. Â It was 90 degrees so many he just wanted to go for a swim... the fact that he kept going was impressive. Â I would have thrown my bag in the pond and withdrawn!
To make matters worse, it took three putts to find the bottom of the cup. Â Ugh that is hard to watch. Â I feel the pain when I lose 4 balls on each hole with water in play, but that is just painful. The good news was that was his final hole and he didn't have to keep playing after a nightmare of a hole.
Huge credit should be shown to Chad for coming back, shooting a 74 Friday, and not heading home early. Â Ramey has had a solid season so far with 4 straight made cuts prior to the Memorial including 4 top 30's this Spring.
Heads up- watch out for flying clubs
This video doesn't need any commentary... the editing job is perfection. Â The fact that they had all these angles is just too good. Â Thankfully the club didn't hit anyone, but holy, was it a close call... about 5 close calls.
The guy standing at the bar's life flashed before his eyes. Â The blank stare of disbelief following the incident got me. Â The bartender's mouth wide open in shock. Â Mr. Butterfingers had an angel watching over him that day because that would have been one large lawsuit if that club connected with someone's head.
Moral of the story- wash your hands after eating greasy pizza before you swing the club! Â Club just missed the ball but it did make contact with the thirsty man at the bar's glass. Â Can we get him a fresh drink and maybe 7 more to try to forget that he just got a haircut from a driver.

Young Golfer to Root for This Week
Ludvig Aberg
Ludvig is a name that you are likely going to start hearing much more in the golf world over the next year. Â The first-ranked golfer in the World Amateur rankings has spent this year golfing for Texas Tech. Â The Sweed finished atop the PGA Tour University standings this year, securing his tour card for the remainder of this year and next.
Aberg is one of just two golfers to win the Ben Hogan Award for the best collegiate golfer in the country twice... the other is Jon Rahm. Â I'm not saying Ludvig is Jon Rahm, but I'm not saying he won't be. Â This dude is a stud.
The 23-year-old played in the Arnold Palmer and the Valspar this season, making the cut in both events and finishing top 25 at the Arnold Palmer.
Whether Ludvig performs in Canada next week or not, this is a name you will see pop up all over the internet and the golf broadcasts in the coming months. Â We might have our newest Sahith Theegala or Viktor Hovland in the making. Â One can dream!
