Around the Clubhouse

Around the Clubhouse (angry)

Welcome to your place for all the light-hearted golf content you need.  We will be going around the clubhouse, reacting to many of the viral golf moments of the past week.  From pro golf to your horrific swing, if it makes you laugh, then it may show up.  This week we look into a few incredible short-game moments at the John Deere and watch more people golf, that shouldn't be on the golf course.  Stay tuned for this week's player to watch.  Grab your beer, and let's get into it.

Short game clinic at the John Deere

It's safe to say JT Poston has some confidence around TPC Deere Run with a win in 2022 and another great showing this year.  His creativity and ballsiness comes through here with a chip that even had the announcers fooled.  The Post Man put on a clinic for using slope to your advantage!

Look at that ball check-up for Grayson Murray as it rolls out straight into the cup.  What an unreal shot... that is exactly what I imagine happening when I'm 30 yards out, but the result never is the same.

Ludvig Aberg has taken the golf world by storm over the past few weeks, proving why he is one of the most highly touted young prospects on the PGA.  While he has been mushing balls long and straight repeatedly, Aberg's short game is no slouch.  Beautiful touch here by the young Sweed!  Is Ludvig the next Viktor Hovland?

Greyson Sigg walks in a birdie chip from the thick stuff like it was nothing... one can dream.  The way he clips at it, and the club just stops, man.  Absolute perfection with the speed of those greens being where they are.

Is Cam Young Back?

After what has been a really rough few months for Cam, he had some promise this week at the John Deere.  The 9-iron shot out of the bunker is so damn difficult and he put it within 10 feet.  That shot is just unbelievable.

Cam was great off the tee and around the green at the Deere and also found his putter.  Top 10 in greens in reg. and driving accuracy doesn't hurt either.

Before this week, Young sat 49th in the FedExCup standings and has just one top 40 in his last 7 events.  For his standards, he has been underperforming, but this could be the week he needed to turn it back on and get rolling into the Open Championship.

Although he didn't put it all together this week, this is a much-needed step in the right direction.

Right through the window

I don't fully understand how this is possible... the clubhouse is like 50 yards right and only 5 yards in front of the tee box.  It is impressive that he hit it at that angle.  The real winner here is the owner of that truck that was narrowly missed, just before the cracking sound was heard.  No fore was even yelled, just a little "ooof" in the background... In the nicest way possible, I think it's time to switch to pickleball.

OH NOOOO

This is equally on the wounded as it is the idiot swinging the golf club.  If you see someone swinging, don't go near them, and if you see someone near you, don't swing!  My guy did take it like a champ though, the reaction is absolutely sensational.  Never gets old!

Golfer to Root for at the Scottish Open

Ewen Ferguson

I had to go with a Scottish golfer this week and decided on a DP World Tour member who has been lighting it up recently.  Ewen finished T4 at the British Masters and also had two other top 15s since May.

Ferguson grew up in Glasgow, just 60 miles from where the tournament will take place.  This guy has accuracy both off the tee and with his irons.  Let's see if Ewen can be the Scot that impresses this week.
