Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: Mexico Open 2023
What's going on golf addicts?
Welcome to the weekend! The Masters came and went and we are desperately looking forward to the next elevated PGA TOUR Event. The weak fields will not stop us! As golf addicts, we decided to go all in for this week’s PGA TOUR Mexico Open. To muddy the situation a bit more, many of us backed Wyndham Clark with our units. Clark just made the cut on the number and sits 15 strokes back of the lead. In addition, our midrange and longshot picks do not look promising with the heavyweight shootout happening at the top of the leaderboard.
What do we do? Vince “Money Marg” here and this is the “Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay!”
How The Parlay Works
The parlay is a combo of two or more finishing position bets for the final day of that week’s tournament. Our goal going into Sunday is to recoup AT LEAST half of our units back for the week. If you are a 10-unit weekly bettor, your risk for this parlay should be 2.5 units. Additionally, you should be looking for a yield of +300 or longer. Your odds for the parlay are going to look different each week due to variance, strength of field, weather, and other factors. I try to cap my odds at 20/1.
You will see some major differences in value gained across the books so make sure you get the best yield possible. In addition, know which books offer straight value over dead heat rules so your potential win isn’t cut down by ties.

Finishing Position Picks to Parlay
The Mexican weather is beautiful and there have been fireworks at Vidanta Vallarta this week. The fairways are wide open and it’s a paradise for wannabees like us. Saturday was a shootout amongst the top 2 players in the field. Sunday does not look like it will disappoint with Rahm and Finau ready to take each other on. I’m targeting three golfers this week to cash. All are striking the ball with authority through three rounds and are within a stroke of the cashing finishing position. Let’s check out those golfers:
Top 5: Brandon Wu (-500 DraftKings)
Wu Bangers has been lighting up the course this week. Currently sitting in 4th place, Wu is 2nd this week in both SG: Tee to Green and Off-The-Tee, while putting at an elite clip. With a few strokes cushion, I like Wu to maintain the pressure and stay in a top 5 position to end the tournament.
Top 10: Emiliano Grillo (+130 DraftKings)
Grillo always shines in weak fields in tropical settings. We all know that he hits the ball well and this week he’s leading the field in Approach through three rounds. Ride the hot putter and the elite irons! I love Emiliano in the chasing position on Sunday and will be betting this straight up as well.
Top 20: Gary Woodland (+115 DraftKings)
We ALL know Gary cannot be trusted with the putter. In round three on the greens, the former US Open champ turned it around and gained strokes on the field. Combined with his elite ball striking and win equity, slot him in to cash as a Top 20.
The Mexico Open Sunday Parlay: +493 on DraftKings
I hope you all are looking forward to a great finish at Vidanta tomorrow. I'll be enjoying a nice red wine, meatballs, and some Sunday Sauce! Sit back, crack open a drink, and hammer this parlay for a nice Sunday Sweat.
All right addicts, that’s enough from me. Remember to Save Your A$$! and lock this in before the final round kicks off at 10:30am EST. You have the picks. You have the stats. NOW TAKE THOSE UNITS BACK!
