Marathon Classic 2021 Betting Picks

I’m gonna go ahead and say Jin Young Ko wasn’t too thrilled to be knocked out of the number one spot in the world by Nelly. She came out firing on the week with an opening round 63, and she was able to post a couple more low rounds and hold off Matilda Castren who has now had a win and a second in two of her last three starts.

In the only excitement to come out of the article last week we had Min-G Kim at 500/1 poking around the leaderboard all week even sharing the lead at points but ultimately a three over second round and a fondness of double bogies over the final two days would tumble her down to eighth place.

After a quick stop in Texas, we now head up to Ohio and the Highland Meadows Golf Club. This one of the longest running tournaments on any tour being played since 1984. Highland Meadows has hosted every year since it took over the tournament in 1989 only once missing in 2011 as it hosted the US Senior Open that year. This course has the opportunity to see some low scores as we see the winning score float around the mid to high teens with a -20 thrown in every few years. For a second straight week we see a Par 71, but unlike last week, we don’t get the full complement of Par 5s. Par 4 scoring will be key. I'm gonna go ahead and say whoever golfs their ball better than the field will have the best chance to win.

25/1 & lower

Danielle Kang - 12/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Danielle has had a knack for 5th place finishes lately. This events defending champion has been knocking on the door for awhile lately. It’s only a matter time until she takes down another event and where better than the venue of her last win...

25/1-70/1

Leona Maguire - 28/1 (DK Sportsbook)

I’ll lead this off with saying I'm pretty sure last time she was in here she missed the cut. Maguire had a close call at the Meijer a few weeks back and a really nice PGA Championship. The former longest world number one ranked amateur is searching for her first LPGA win but has closed the door twice on the Symetra Tour. It’s not a matter of if but a matter when for her

Celine Boutier-33/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Her number has been cut in half since we had her on the card at the PGA, I thought she was destined for a let down in her first start after that run she made there but there was none. She loves to eat those Par 5s up and with only three that’ll be even more important this week. I’ll finally be able to get that image of her skulling that bunker shot out of my head if Celine manages to lift the trophy this week.

Long Shots

Esther Henseleit- 90/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Posting the second lowest round of the week with a 64. Esther has strung together two very impressive starts with the 4th last week and a 15th at the PGA. Let’s hope for a third.

Dana Finkelstein - 200/1 (PointsBet)

This tournament is presented by Dana. Dana’s first name is Dana... Dana wins? I’ve used worst logic before… Finished 14th last week.
