The 2023 Fedex St. Jude Championship Betting Favorite Parlay
What’s up, Golf Addicts? Vince Money Marg, back this week after a short hiatus for the start of the Fedex Cup Playoffs! This week the top 70 golfers this season tee it up at TPC Southwind in Memphis for the Fedex St. Jude Championship. The course will play as a 7,243 yard par-70. There will not be a cut in this short field event, similar to when the course hosted the WGC St. Jude a few years back. The course's main defense will be water on 11 holes, some tight bunkering around the greens, and some sticky Bermuda rough. Check out this video from TJ’s own DB detailing everything you need to know about the course. I expect the best in the world to card a lot of birdies this week, so expect an exciting finish.
The Top of The Fedex St. Jude Betting Board
No Cut? No Problem!
It’s no surprise that the top of the betting board this week is headlined by the BIG 3 in golf. Scottie, Rahm, and Rory are all shorter than +1000. I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of these fellas battling it out for the win this week. All three are locked in. Scottie Scheffler has had some shaky history here in Memphis. His course history and his putter woes give me some pause in this field.Â
Viktor Hovland, best buddies Cantlay & Xander, along with feisty Brit Tyrrell Hatton round out the top of the betting board. Hovland seems like he can go out blindfolded this week and card a top-20. I haven’t seen enough from Xander and Cantlay this year to push them over the finish line. Both are fantastic and consistent golfers so they could prove me wrong, but I’m not getting those winning vibes. Hatton is tracking towards a win. He’s played very well this season, putts well, and is a great ball-striker. I’m not sure how the no-cut format would benefit him with some big game hunters in the mix at all times. My pick to win this week is a golfer who’s shown he can win this season, has been in excellent form, and just loves the playoffs.
OUR OUTRIGHT FAVORITE FOR THE Fedex St. Jude Championship
Rory Rolls into Memphis
Rory Mcllroy is my pick this week to win the Fedex St. Jude Championship. He's been lights out since mid-April and with major season, LIV drama, and media distractions in his rearview mirror, I think he’s primed for another strong playoff performance. Over his last 24 rounds, Rory is 8 strokes better than the second best golfer(Scheffler). He also is top-5 in the field in Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee, Ball-Striking, Tee-to-Green, and is third in Green In Regulation. Rory is also gaining strokes on the greens during that same span.Â
In No Cut tournaments and also at TPC Southwind, the numbers are just as good if not better. He leads the field over 50 rounds in all the major ball-striking categories except Approach, which he is 6th. We all know Rory’s experience at East Lake speaks for itself. I’m eyeing down an early playoff victory for the confident Mcllroy to start the final stretch of the season. Now Let’s Go Juicin!

Same Sport Pick to Parlay
We are changing it up this week. Usually I Juice Up our favorite with a pick from outside the golf world. During the dog days of summer, there isn’t much to choose from so I'm dipping into the PGA pool this week. As I mentioned earlier, Viktor isn’t just trying to make it to the fashion runways in Milan. He is eyeing a deep run in the playoffs. I picked the Norwegian to win The Open Championship, and despite a horrific front-9 on Sunday, he played well enough to see himself in the penultimate group and finish in 13th place.Â
This week, I love Viktor's chances to play well. Despite not having the best numbers at TPC Southwind, in 12 rounds he is still 15th in Ball-Striking. We also know there has been a major improvement in his game around the greens this season. Over his last 36 rounds of golf, Viktor leads the field in proximity to the hole and is top-10 in Tee-to-Green, Ball-Striking, and Birdie or Better percentage. We’ve seen him compete on the big stage so I’m expecting a big performance from him this week and my lock to cash us a top-10 finish.
Best odds for Viktor Hovland to finish Top-10: +190 DraftKings
The Juice of the Week: +2510 on DraftKings
The juice this week is all about the heavy hitters in golf. No cut events tend to see the cream rise to the top and Rory and Viktor give me no reason to look away from them. If you want to get a little risky this week, perhaps throw this bet in and also flip it for a Vik Win/Rory T-10 for a +4000 haul. Anyway, that’s enough from me. Fire up Rory to take home the trophy and Vik to wear something brutally bright and finish inside the top 10. (1 Unit to Win 25 units)!
