The 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Betting Favorite Cross Sport Parlay
What’s up, Addicts?
Vince “Money Marg” here and we are back this week in The Lone Star State for the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson. The favorites were wiped out last week at The Wells Fargo by none other than Wyndham Clark. If you tailed the Juiced bet last week, we came up short on Cantlay (T21) but nailed Aljamain Sterling to retain the UFC Bantamweight Title. Quail Hollow was pristine last week and the Green Mile proved to be dangerous to some but not all. TPC Craig Ranch should play easier this week, although some wind is expected in the forecast. I expect some low scores and a lot of birdies to be carded.
Where Are the Favorites?
The Texas Twosome
As we see with many weeks before a Major, the field is light on star power this week. Texas Longhorn and world number two, Scottie Scheffler headlines the event in his home state. My guess is he will be tuning up for the PGA Championship at a familiar venue close to home. Scottie can easily win this week but at +350, the price is too expensive, even for the juicers.
On Monday, Jordan Spieth announced his withdrawal from the tournament due to injury, so we are left with some slim pickings at the top of the betting board. That won’t stop us folks! Tyrrell Hatton and Jason Day will also be in attendance this week, but I am targeting one golfer who lines up well against this field and conditions. Let’s Go Juicin!
OUR TOP 5 FAVORITE FOR THE 2023 AT&T BYRON NELSON
A Top 5 for Texas Tom!
Everything is bigger in Texas! That includes the wide-open fairways and large greens at TPC Craig Ranch. After a hot start and two victories to begin his professional career, Tom Kim cooled down a bit. The expectations were sky-high at all the designated and deep field events this winter and early spring. Kim’s odds were more expensive, and the newfound popularity probably messed with his mental state. Recently his game has been coming back into form and the setup this week is perfect to back Tom’s skillset.
Over his last 24 rounds on easy courses relative to par, Kim is first in total strokes gained and is 10 full strokes better than any other golfer in the field including Scottie Scheffler. In addition, Kim is 2nd in Tee to Green, Ball Striking, and Approach to the Green. The fairways will be easy to hit this week so despite not being long off the tee, Kim’s long iron game is fantastic and should help him score.
Best odds for Tom Kim to Top 5: +410 on Fanduel
Cross Sport Pick to Parlay
It’s been 10 days since the Maple Leafs won their first playoff series in nearly 20 years. John Tavares, Auston Matthew, and gang were at the top of the hockey world in Canada and ready to play their way towards the Stanley Cup Finals. Only a few days later, they are staring elimination in the face and are down three games to the Florida Panthers. Toronto will also be without their goaltender for game 4 and will be starting a rookie backup.
All in all, I think the experience in the locker room and the offensive firepower of Toronto get it done to keep the team alive in the series. I’ll be on the Toronto money line and the over for goals in this game.
The Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs -120 to Win Game 4 on 5/10
The Juice of the Week: +818 on Fanduel
It will be interesting to watch who came to Texas to win or to sharpen their game before next week’s PGA Championship. It’s going to be an exciting week for scoring which bodes well for the betting and DFS spaces. We should see some rain and high wind gusts as well which should make this fun to watch. This week’s juice bet is Tom Kim to Top 5 + the Maple Leafs to win game 4 tonight down in Florida. (1 Unit to Win 8.18). Get this dialed in before 7 pm EST tonight! Have a great week!
