The 2024 American Express Betting Favorite Cross Sport Parlay
What’s up, Golf Addicts,
Money Marg here and it is officially California Swing Season! The Tour starts the swing in Palm Springs at PGA West for the 2024 American Express Championship. We will have a solid field this week with 22 of the world’s top 50 in attendance. Three courses will be played with the culmination happening on the Pete Dye signature Stadium Course on Sunday. Birdies will reign king this week and the weather looks amazing. Let’s jump onto the betting board and see which guys at the top we like.

The California Swing Begins at PGA West!
Scottie “Not too Hottie” with the putter Scheffler comes in as the favorite this week, followed by the PGA Tour Disgusting Brothers, Xander and Cantlay. Aside from Jon Rahm’s two victories, we’ve seen BIG numbers win the AMEX and these three are just too pricey even for the Juicin crowd to get some good squeeze out of.
Justin Thomas, Sungjae Im, Min Woo Lee, and Tom Kim are some other names with shorter odds in the field. I’m hesitant to fire on JT this early without seeing him play and Min Woo doesn’t line up well here. Sungjae has been on fire of late. His increased birdie percentage could put him in a good place to be atop the leaderboard come Sunday. Tom Kim has also been playing solid golf this fall and played well in Hawaii. This week however, since its long shot season in the TJ universe, I’m backing a golfer who has been as consistent as anyone on tour this past year.
OUR OUTRIGHT FAVORITE FOR THE American Express
Eric Cole Birdies his Way to Victory at the AMEX
“Easy E” Eric Cole is my pick to win the AMEX this year. While his off-the-tee numbers and par-5 scoring do not stand out, his statistical profile is strong in this field both short and long term. Over his last 24 rounds, Cole leads the field in Birdie or Better Percentage and Par 3 scoring. In addition, he is top 5 in strokes gained approach and top 15 in putting.
Looking back more long term over 75 rounds, his numbers are even better with an added top 10 in the field in bogey avoidance. I like Cole to adapt well to the three different courses and put himself in contention for a run Sunday. Fire up Eric Cole to win the AMEX this week and break through on the PGA Tour! Now Let’s Go Juicin!
Best Odds for Eric Cole to Win: +3500 on FanDuel/DraftKings
Cross Sport Pick to Parlay
The NFL heads to the Divisional round of the playoffs this weekend. After a smackdown performance over Dallas in the Wild Card round, the Green Bay Packers head west to San Francisco to face off against the NFC top seed 49ers. I’m feeling some early love loss for the Niners this week and it could put a little chip on their shoulder. They’ve had a few weeks to get healthy and Kyle Shanahan will have his team ready to pounce on a Packers team that exposed an awful Cowboys secondary and suspect run defense.
The early line on the 49ers is -9.5 and both the public money and bets are in favor of the Packers as of Wednesday. For this week’s Juice, we are going to play with the line a bit and take the Niners to cover an alternate spread of -6.5. Christian McCaffrey and an elite offensive game plan should set the pace early and give the Packer defense fits all day.
Best Odds for San Francisco to cover -6.5: -180 on FanDuel
The Juice of the Week: +5500 on Fanduel
With less than four weeks remaining till Superbowl LVII, the time is now to cash in on some gems and get those units up. The 49ers should showcase why they were the top team in the NFC and at home, with a healthy and stacked team they should easily cover the points we need to cash in. Fire up Eric Cole to win the AMEX and the Niners to cover the alternate spread -6.5 this week for our Juice Up bet! (1 Unit to win 55 units).
