Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: 2023 John Deere Classic
What’s up, Golf Addicts,
It’s been a solid week so far at the 2023 John Deere Classic. As expected, there has been a ton of scoring and Sunday looks like the winner will need to go low and card a good amount of birdies to win. The course is playing fairly easy this week and conditions have been optimal, but those who have and who will take advantage of the par-5s and good tee shots will be the golfers with a chance come Sunday afternoon. If you read this week’s edition of Let’s Go Juicin and have followed the TJ teams’ picks, you’ll know we have some guys in the mix, but that won’t stop us from hammering a Sunday Parlay to keep the action flowing!
The DAWGS DEMOLISH DEERE RUN!
Much talk coming into this week was about the annual PGA Frat House up at Deere Run. What’s even crazier is how these guys have been able to withstand the hangovers and Domino’s food comas to get out there a fire low scores each day. Brendon The Toddfather and Alex Smalley are sitting at the top coming into Sunday. Smalley was tremendous on day 3, going 9-under and having a historic day with his irons.
The chasers include Denny Putts and Adam Schenk, who’ve both been very close to closing this season and have been consistent throughout the bag this week. Georgia Bulldogs, Chris Kirk, Sepp Straka, and Greyson Sigg have pushed the leaderboard at times as well. Cameron Young is 3-strokes back of the lead and is chasing some Fedex Cup and Ryder Cup points so it will be interesting to see if he can push the leaders and post a very low round to get his first tour win. This week for our Sunday Parlay, I’m targeting three golfers who have either played consistent golf throughout the week, have win equity and can close on Sundays, or have the ability to card low rounds and cash some finishing positions for us.

Finishing Position Picks to Parlay
Top 5: Brendon Todd (-190 DraftKings)
Brendon Todd finds himself in the final group this week after carding three low rounds at TPC Deere Run. While the Toddfather doesn’t project as a long ball-striker who makes a ton of birdies, he does play well on courses that aren’t long. If he continues his pace of even-to-minimal gains ball-striking, he should contend for his third tour win. On the week Todd is 2nd in putting and fairways gained which is a recipe for success. If he doesn't win, I like his chances to top-5 and cash for us.
Top 10: Sepp Straka (+170 DraftKings)
The sports books did not love the Georgia Bulldog’s chances of contending this week at Deere Run. After a bad first round however, Sepp has been lights out since, and finds himself 4-back of the lead. Rounds two and three were a completely different story for the Austrian. He's 14-under par since then and on the week, he’s top-10 in Greens in Regulation and Birdies Gained while also gaining with the putter. I like Sepp to keep up the pace, sink some clutch putts, and post a low number to contend and cash a top-10 this week.
Top 20: Ludvig Aberg (+105 DraftKings)
By now, most of the golf world knows who the young Aberg is, and what he can do off-the-tee. That play has continued this week as he is top-10 in Strokes Gained Off-the-tee, Ball-Striking, and Tee-to-Green. He also leads the field in Birdies Gained. In round three, Aberg took a small step back and was even on the day. I like the Swedish bomber to get back to business and keep attacking today and get us a top-20 to close out the parlay for us.
