Outright Bets for The RBC Heritage 2023
The Betting Approach for The RBC Heritage 2023
Welp. Rahm had that dawg in him like I said, and Rory's the runt of some designer brand like a cockashitz terrier or something. What a Masters it was, despite not having a dog in the hunt late on Sunday.
Now, we move on down the street about 3 hours from Augusta to Harbour Town Golf Links in HIlton Head, SC as the PGA TOUR hosts the elevated, RBC Heritage. The studs are all here (except for that Rory pup), and the course is lookin reaaaallll nice we here.
Vegas has the O/U winning score set at -16.5 as of Tuesday afternoon. The winning score has only surpassed -16 twice since 2015, excluding the 2020 version in the Summer of Covid. I think the number is high because rain is forecasted a little on Thursday and almost a sure thing on Friday. Plus, the wind is projected to really lay down on the weekend. Wind is really the only defense at Harbour Town for the best pros in the world, despite Pete Dye's best efforts.
I think the possibly softened conditions due to rain, lack of wind, and characteristics inherent at Harbour Town could set up perfectly for a mid to long range outright winner. The easier a course plays, the more possible it is for a long shot to rise amongst the best over 4 days and get hot. Plus, Harbour Town just really suits any style of golfer. You don't have to be a bomber gaining all your strokes off the tee.
I'm optimistic that this elevated event could bring some fun drama on a great course alongside a potential long shot winner rocking the tartan jacket come Sunday evening.

This is NOT Your Mama's Betting Article
I bet on golf for fun. You should too. Life is too short to bet favorites! Therefore, I don't get the betting erection I crave betting guys at 18/1 or 9/1. I realize that may be the sharper way to do things, but F that. I've felt the rush of having a big triple-digit winning golf bet hit...and Daddy likes!
Throughout the season, I'm going to show you my pre-tournament bets, including what I'm risking, odds, and some brief logic behind the pick. I'm actually betting on these guys. I'm taking $50 a week at $10 per unit to show you how I allot my dollars. Follow along, bet with me if you like, or completely fade everyone on this betting card. Up to you. I finished the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season up 10 units over 30 weeks, the 2020-2021 season up 41 units and the 2021-2022 season up 26 units strictly betting the long shot outrights (nothing shorter than 25/1).
Long Shot Outright Bets for The RBC Heritage 2023
I'm now up 20 units on the 2022-2023 PGA TOUR season and I'm not counting the +850 Si Woo hit I so brilliantly called on Saturday night of the Amex (I'm going to keep reminding Pat of that one).
I'm pounding the middle of the outright board with a couple total BOMBs tossed in there in hopes of #LongShotSZN hitting. 7 of the 9 guys played The Masters last week, so I'm clearly leaning on the trend that 13 of the last 16 winners here played The Masters the week before.
All in all, this is a card full of solid mid to long iron form coming in with short game and putting prowess in tow.
I'm slammed this Wednesday, so limited write ups...hit me up in the DISCORD or catch the live chat tonight around 9pmET if you'd like further explanation.
Alright, off to help write the Chalk Bomb! Have a great week and #BendOverYourBookie!
