Outright Bets for The Genesis Scottish Open 2022

The Betting Approach for The Genesis Scottish Open 2022

Winner Winner!!! JT Poston goes wire to wire for us at 65/1! If you aren't watching the weekly Monday morning 1st look betting odds show on YouTube, then you're just slap missing out on betting board value. I've been doing it for weeks now, and the line shopping we're doing is paying off. JT was the guy I was banging the loudest drum for on that show at 65/1, and by the time the line closed, he was as low as 40/1 on some books.

On to the Genesis Scottish Open where one of the best non major fields in golf descend on North Berwick to play the 2nd coolest golf course in North Berwick. The sportsbooks have the O/U winning score at -17.5 for now based on the current weather predictions, but that could change on a dime. It really sucks that the wind isn't picking up thus far, and like 2 of the last 3 years, it appears these guys will get rather benign conditions in North Berwick.

I'm going to wait until tee times are posted and likely wait for a Wednesday morning weather update before finalizing picks. As we know, tee time wave advantages can be a very real factor over in Scotland, so I'd like to wait to see if the golf gods send us any last minute surprises.

This is NOT Your Mama's Betting Article

I bet on golf for fun. You should too. Life is too short to bet favorites! Therefore, I don't get the betting erection I crave betting guys at 18/1 or 9/1. I realize that may be the sharper way to do things, but F that. I've felt the rush of have a big triple digit winning golf bet hit...and Daddy likes!

Throughout the season, I'm going to show you my pre tournament bets, including what I'm risking, odds, and some brief logic behind the pick. I'm actually betting these guys. I'm taking $50 a week at $10 per unit to show you how I allot my dollars. Follow along, bet with me if you like, or completely fade everyone on this betting card. Up to you. I finished the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season up 10 units over 30 weeks & the 2020-2021 season up 41 units strictly betting the long shot outrights and first round leaders (nothing shorter than 25/1).

Long Shot Outright Bets for The Genesis Scottish Open And The Barbasol Championship 2022

With the JT Poston hit, we're now up 25 units on the PGA TOUR season strictly betting outrights at 25/1 or longer. Whew! Now...what would make more sense after finally getting back in the positive for the year than rolling out not one...but TWO Big Balls Betting Cards this week!

Short game wizard, creative types sit atop my Scottish Open betting card as I've rolled out Cam Smith and Jordan Spieth. It's hard to deny Spieth's track record in Open Championship's (the best links experience he's got) with a win, four top 10's and zero missed cuts. Outside of 25/1, I trust these 2 in a scoring fest or if the Scottish winds start to blow to make things difficult.

I peppered the mid to long range with Fox, Horschel, Mitchell and Bobby Mac. Fox feels like a sucker bet in some ways, but there is just no denying the guy's current form and links form. He's got to be feeling as confident as ever going into the Scottish.

Jordan Smith is my favorite bet in the triple digit range given his power and recent form. But, I think Kirk could be sneaky good here given his form in 2022 and all around game.

I've also included my Barbasol Championship bets below, but I'm spending half the units in an attempt to earn around 25 units if we hit a winner. The field is trash, and while there are a couple of names in the 20/1 range that certainly intrigue me, there isn't much separation in terms of talent level between those guys and the rest of the field. So...why not bet some bombs!

All in all this week...I'm spending 7.7 units between the 2 cards in an effort to return at least 25 units if 1 bet hits, and up to 58 units if 2 hit. Thank God I racked up some units last week, huh...
