The Power Fade: 2025 Farmers Insurance Open

The Approach for Key fades at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open

What’s going on TJ Nation! Ann Arbor's Own Good Ol' AK Allen Klutts here bringing you another edition of the Power Fade: The Fades 8K and Above You Need to Smash Your DraftKings GPP's!

Sepp Straka.. What a man! Our favorite Austrian came thru for many in the community, myself included with a nice 60/1 outright. Congrats to all those who had Big Sepp on their betting cards!

After a week of dome golf in Palm Springs, we head down the coast to San Diego and the Farmers Insurance Open. This week we see another course rotation, albeit just two this time.

Torrey Pines North and South play host and historically the North Course plays easier. This week features the unique situation where one course plays significantly easier and you must score on the North Course.

While the South Course plays as the more difficult of the two properties, it isn't an extremely challenging test with everything right in front of the players. Expect winning scores to hover between -13 to -15 this week.

PSA: This tournament starts on Wednesday. As we continue our way down the West Coast, let us take a glance at whom our Power Fades will be for the Farmers Insurance Open!

Max Greyserman ($9,700)

Kicking off the Power Fade this week is one of the up and comers on the PGA TOUR. Former Duke Blue Devil Max Greyserman makes his PF debut, coming in at $9,700 on DraftKings.

Why The Fade Works:

Max certainly has the firepower that can succeed around both Torrey Pines properties. Over his brief PGA TOUR career, Max has shown a propensity for scoring in bunches.

Statistically however, Greyserman has some issues that make paying nearly 10K for him a risky proposition.

Greyserman comes into the week ranking 130th in SG Approach. With Greyserman trending deeper and deeper into negative territory over his last 3 measured events, this is a cause for concern.

Our former Blue Devil also struggles across the board with off the tee stats. Ranking 90th in Good Drives and 68th Strokes Gained Off the Tee. It hasn't been much better when Max misses the green either, as he comes in ranking 109th in SG Around the Green.

Putting has saved Max's bacon over the last few weeks, and if you come into Torrey Pines having to rely solely on a hot putter, trouble will be lurking. Fade the $9,700 Max and play the better Max at $8,600. That Max being Max Homa of course.

Taylor Pendrith ($8,800)

Our second Power Fade of the week comes to us from the North of the Border. Taylor Pendrith comes to us at $8,800 on DraftKings.

Why The Fade Works:

Pendrith is an interesting case this week. From a pricing perspective he is too cheap, which should help garner some ownership.

From the statistical perspective, Pendrith has been very "all or nothing". Ranking 93rd in Putting leaves much to be desired.

Furthermore, Pendrith ranks 112th in proximity from 150-200 yards, and 70th in Bogey Avoidance. If he starts slow again this week, Pendrith may find himself fighting to make the cut, let alone contend for the title.

That's it folks for this week's edition of the Power Fade! We will return to you next week for a little party known as "The Clam Bake". We are off to Pebble Beach and the conclusion of Course Rotation Season!
