Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: 2024 Cognizant Classic
What’s up, TJ Crew!
So far, this year’s iteration of the Cognizant Classic has been all over the place. Day 1 brought us easy pins and low scores, which upset the #notmyHonda crowd. The course showed a tiny bit of fight on days 2 and 3. We’ve seen the two difficult stretches including the Bear Trap, show their teeth and bogeys and doubles started appearing. Today, we’re expecting more of the same and limiting bogeys and hitting fairways and greens will be a priority. This week I’m targeting three golfers who have shown a high floor throughout the week and should be able to lock up some solid finishes.
Finishing Position Picks to Parlay
Top 5: Austin Eckroat (-200 DraftKings)
The Oklahoma State Cowboy has been as consistent as anyone in the field this week. He is leading the field in Birdies while being top-5 in both fairways and greens. His tee-to-green play and ball-striking has been top-10 on the week and he’s gained over four strokes with the putter. Expect more of the same today. If Eckroat doesn’t lock up his first tour win, the top 5 play should be a lock.
Top 10: Andrew Novak (+160 BETMGM)
Novak has been lingering at the top of leaderboards for the past month. He’s a consistent ball-striker who does everything well and can hit fairways at a high clip which bodes well for him at PGA National. While Novak hasn’t been running away with anything, he’s limited bogeys (3rd in the field) and has gained over a stroke with the putter. I like Novak to at minimum continue the pace and lock up a top-10 finish for us.
Top 20: Jake Knapp (-140 DraftKings)
Last week’s Mexico Open champion and new face of the PGA Tour, Jake Knapp has continued his solid play this week. He’s been paired with Rory the first three days of the tourney and has outplayed him on the scorecard. We all know Knapp can collect birdies in bundles and has the chops to contend on Sunday. That continues today and should lock us up a top-20 finish. He’s 3rd in the field off-the-tee this week and has gained strokes on the field across the board. He is matched up in the final round with Pavon and both will be trying to push the leaders for a solid finish heading into the big two weeks ahead.
The Cognizant Classic Sunday Parlay: +568 on DraftKings
Enjoy the final day at PGA National. You should expect more of the same conditions today and if the leaders make it through holes 5-7 and the Bear Trap unscathed, they should be in contention for the trophy. Make sure you shop your books to get the best lines and favorable tie rules. (2 Units to win 11 Units).Â
