Around the Clubhouse
Welcome to your place for all the light-hearted PGA TOUR content you need.  We will be going around the clubhouse, reacting to many of the viral golf moments of the past week.  From pro golf to your horrific swing, if it makes you laugh, then it may show up. This week we look into one strange moment from the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hallow and talk about some interesting golf outfits. Stay tuned for this week's young player to watch.  Grab your beer, and let's get into it.
Tony Finau's Family
Is there a better man in golf than Tony Finau? Â I don't think so. Â How can you not love this guy!
Just a few hours after winning the Mexico Open, Tony caddied for his two sons at a local course. Â He has made it clear that he is a family man, and this proves that.
Finau and his wife have 5 kids, who have all traveled on tour over the past 2 seasons. Â Tony is the Philip Rivers of golf and has to be such a fun dad to be around.
I'm curious how the kids take advice from their dad on the course. Â There is a phase we all went through of shrugging off what our parents said and wanting to do the opposite, but that is totally different when your dad is a multi-time tour champ.
If Tony is telling Jr. to put the ball back in his stance, does he listen cause his dad is Tony Finau, or say F off and try to prove him wrong because that's what kids do?
Which golfers are best known for the way they dress?
There are golfers known for their great outfits, and some are known for their out-there appearance. Â To me, the best looks are the ones that make you go, "Holy he is really wearing that on tv".
Rickie Fowler
The current tour player known best for his golf outfits is Rickie Fowler. Â No question.
What makes the Rickie look stick out is the fact that 95% of PGA golfers dress boring as hell.
The color synonymous with Rick is orange. Â During his time at Oklahoma State, he started wearing orange to stand out from the crowd. Â He continued that to his pro days, wearing orange usually during the final round.
While the pictures of Rickie in all neon orange with the boy band hair are one of a kind, my favorite Fowler outfits are some of the others.
The greatest look in my opinion, was at the 2014 US Open. Â In a tribute to golf great Payne Steward, Rickie wore golf knickers with light blue high socks to match his polo. Â Man, this is a look. Â Looks like Zac Efron in a remake of Caddyshack.
Tiger Woods
Over the last 20 years, the most impactful look has to be Tiger in red on Sunday.
While people believe Tiger wears red during his final round to make it easier for the crowd and broadcast to see him, that is not what he's said.
Tiger has said that his mom thinks red is his power color and you should always listen to your mother.
In Thailand, where Tiger's mother is from, red is the lucky color to wear on Sunday, which may have led to the choice.
Whether it's the red or not, it's safe to say some things went well for him on Sundays and maybe we all need to start wearing more red.
Ian Poulter
I purposely phrased the question as golfers instead of tour players because there are a few LIV guys that absolutely should find their names on this list.
Ian Poulter is up there with Rickie for pushing the envelope when it comes to what he wears on the course.
Poulter's spiky hair paired with a visor is quite the look before we even get to what he is wearing. Â Starting with the 2008 disco-inspired fit... looks like he's wrapped in the foil of a Galaxy Chocolate Bar. Â Isn't that a distraction for whoever he is playing with? Â I feel like the sun has to reflect right off that.
The 2009 Open Championship was one of many outfits inspired by the UK flag. Â The flag vest and plaid pants are an interesting look. Â Once again, the frosted tips in the visor just add to it all.
Not sure how he packs his bags and thinks it's a good idea to wear much of what he rocks when he's out on the course.
What is going on moments at the 2023 Wells Fargo
Watching this makes me squirm... snakes are my biggest fear in the entire world. Â Rickie just picks up the snake like it's nothing and dumps it right into the water. Â Remind me not to swim in small bodies of water in the South.
Fowler is not someone that I would picture as a nature kid, but maybe I'm wrong.
Cobra has to be loving the free advertising!
ATHLETE. Â Sahith is a pure athlete. Â Cmon dude... a reverse lefty shot in a PGA Tour event. Â And it worked.
That not only takes balls but also practice. Â There's no way that's his first time hitting a reverse shot like that.
I assume a normal person would whiff 9/10 tries at that, but Sahith is superhuman.
Why does golf take so long?
What is going on here? Â I need an explanation. Â On the green too, cmon! Â Do this in a park somewhere.
The four groups lined up waiting to tee off have the be bubbling with rage. Â Nothing is more irritating than idiots dilly dallying on the greens with people behind them, but this is a whole other level.
The comments are something else on this post. Â "Two-iron stinger", "Bombs away", and the wayyyy too far "Carts aren't normally meant for the green, but I think this is an exception". Â While funny to think about, nobody should be swinging away aiming for someone's head, but I wouldn't be shocked if the group behind sent a warning shot or two.
Seriously though, just watching this pisses me off. Â After shanking three straight drives and blading a chip on the last hole, this would send me over the edge.
Get off the green or someone who doesn't care may actually send one towards your head.

Young Golfer to Root for This Week
David Micheluzzi
This week's pick is a deeper find... likely one many have never watched before, which is my goal. Â The Aussie found his way into the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson field through a sponsors exemption. Â He has played most of his golf on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the DP World Tour.
At 26 years old, Micheluzzi has 3 wins since the start of 2022 and 22 top 20's. Â He has the game to impress, and I think has the ability to make a cut, but the best part about him is his swag.
This dude is Cam Smith's long-lost brother. The stache is spectacular, and the flow is even better.
My man's social media gave me a real laugh. Â Just a normal Aussie that is living his dream playing golf. Â The #fullsend in almost all his posts is pretty great.
Dave is fantastic around the green and has clutched up in his final rounds over the past month.
Nothing would make me happier than watching Luzzi succeed this week in Texas.
