The Power Fade: 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational
The Approach for Key fades at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational
What’s going on TJ Nation! Ann Arbor's Own Good Ol' AK Allen Klutts here bringing you another edition of the Power Fade: The Fades 8K and Above You Need to Smash Your DraftKings GPP's!
Joe Highsmith's shocking victory at the Cognizant makes it back to back weeks with a long shot winner. As the PGA TOUR heads back north to Orlando, we see the return of the World Number One Scottie Scheffler, who looks to stop Long Shot SZN in its tracks.
Bay Hill, Arnold Palmer's signature design plays host to this Signature Event. A Par 72, tipping out at 7,400 yards, water comes into play on most of the holes.
Iron play will be tested at Bay Hill, as this course plays as a true second shot golf course.
Weather plays a huge factor into how Bay Hill will be attacked. Should the wind be up, players will barely break par. We have 14 holes this week where you hold on for dear life, and you must attack the Par 5's.
With 2 straight weeks of a PF missing the cut in our back pocket, let us take a look at who will not be having a magical time in Orlando. Bring on the Power Fade!
Ludvig Aberg ($9,900)
Our first Power Fade of the week is fresh off a trip to the winner's circle in San Diego. Ludvig Aberg makes his first PF appearance this year at $9,900 on DraftKings.
Why The Fade Works:
Is Ludvig underpriced based on his talent? That answer is probably. With the soft pricing however you can make Aberg the second man into your lineups. It is my belief that many will go down this route.
When it comes to the stats, Ludvig isn't the juggernaut we all think he is. Ranking 42nd in SG Ball Striking is concerning for this field. With many opportunities to get in trouble from poor irons, this can be problematic.
In his young career, Aberg has played the Arnold Palmer Invitational twice. The Swedish Cyborg has finishes of T24 and T25. It was all based on putting.
According to the Bet the Number stats, Aberg lost across the board except for putting. If we are relying strictly on his putter (The most volatile stat in golf), then maybe we should look elsewhere.
Maverick McNealy ($8,700)
Our second Power Fade of the week is an interesting fade. At $8,700 Maverick McNealy makes his season debut in the PF.
Why The Fade Works:
Statistically, Mav has some issues that cannot be ignored. Ranking 41st in Par 4 Scoring 400-450 yards is cause for concern. Especially considering that Mav's recent success has been purely related to a hot putter.
The last time we saw McNealy he nearly won the Genesis with his electric final round. However Mav hit greens in bunches, thus not having to scramble. Mav hasn't faired well when it comes to SG ARG ranking 68th
That's it folks for this week's edition of the Power Fade! We will return to you next week we head to TPC Sawgrass and THE PLAYERS.
