Ana Inspiration 2021 Betting Picks

Welcome to the first LPGA major of the year! Before we dig into one my favorite tournaments of the year, let’s look back and have a good chuckle. EVERYONE and their mother bet/wrote up In-Gee Chun last week (including myself) and the weight of the community apparently was on her mind as she forgot to sign her scorecard and was DQ’d while in 4th place through two rounds. With that said don’t hesitate to bet her again but she won’t be in this write up.

Anywho, on to this week. We are at The Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills CC, I have been lucky enough to play this course a handful of times and let me tell you there are not many others like it. This Par 72 coming in at 6800 Yards with water in play on four holes highlighted by the island green Par 5 18th hole. Avoid putting it in the drink there and as long as you stay out of Phil and Gertrude’s multi-million dollar backyard and the rough and navigate these tricky greens it's a pretty straight forward course. Hopefully after squeaking through all that we all get a refreshing jump into Poppie’s Pond this week.

25/1 & lower

Nelly Korda - 11/1 (DK Sportsbook & PointsBet)

Now that she has her first LPGA win on North American soil under her belt, let's hope it opens the floodgates of Major Championships she has the skills to win. Finished 2nd here in the fall version last year, Nelly should find herself in the hunt once again.

Lexi Thompson - 12/1 (DK Sportsbook & PointsBet)

Lexi is in search of her second major (first being in the 2014 edition of this event) she has had one finish outside of the top five at this event in the last five years. This is also the site of the infamous phone call to penalize her incorrectly marked ball a few years ago. So to say she has some history here is an understatement. Let’s hope for a second jump into Poppie’s Pond come Sunday.

25/1-75/1

Charley Hull - 60/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Another constant leaderboard lurker at the ANA, Charley has had a decent start to the year with an 8th place finish at the last Drive On Championship. Top 30 this season in GIRs and Driving Distance. Also a big price difference between PoinsBet where she is 40/1 and DKs 60/1

Stacy Lewis - 66/1 (DK Sportsbook)

The past champion has been strolling along with two top 10s in her last three starts this season topped off with a 7th last week, She showed last fall with her 5th place finish she could be looking to add another victory here to her resume.

Long Shots

Anna Nordqvist - 90/1 (PointsBet)

The Swede hasn’t missed a cut since the 2019 Portland Classic (you're welcome for jinxing that now) She’s gotten close here before with a 4th place finish. Anna has been hitting greens at a 77% clip this year. Also another obvious price difference between sites with her being 70/1 on DK

Gabriela Ruffels - 125/1 (PointsBet)

I know its a little early but she has been a majors savant in her first two attempts with top 15s both times she’s tee’d it up. Finished 4th in her last Symetra Tour start that was played 30 miles west or 5 hrs away from Mission Hills CC with California freeway drive times.
