Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: 2023 3M Open

Sunday Save Your Ass Parlay

What’s Up, Golf Addicts!

We expected scoring this week at the 2023 3M Open, and that’s what we’ve gotten so far. It’s been a shootout and birdie fest for golfers who hit fairways and greens. Lee Hodges has separated himself from the pack with a 5-stroke lead heading into the final day. JT Poston and Tony Finau are behind Hodges and probably need to card 64 or better to have a chance.

Hodges vs. the Field

The 3M Open was a different scene this week for Justin Thomas, Cam Young, and Sepp Straka. All were near the top of the betting board at the beginning of the week but missed the cut. Justin Thomas is trying to fight his way into Ryder Cup contention, and hasn’t made his case with only one event left to qualify for the Fedex Cup playoffs.

Only a few more Sundays remaining in the season so let’s try to capitalize and nail a Sunday Parlay and save our betting week. I’m going big this week with a 4 pick parlay to get us over the finish line. I’m targeting four golfers who have been lights out with hitting fairways and giving themselves birdie chances.

Finishing Position Picks to Parlay

Winner: Lee Hodges (-300 DraftKings)

The Alabama Crimson Tide Alum has been on fire this week. He leads the field this week in Tee-to-Green, Approach, Birdies Gained, and is third in putting. That’s a recipe for success. I think he continues his stellar play and shoots at least 2-3 under par to maintain his lead on the pack and take home his first PGA Tour trophy.

Top 5: JT Poston (-350 DraftKings)

The Postman has been great as well this week. On the week he’s second in approach while also being near the top of the field in Greens In Reg, Birdies Gained, and putting. We’ve seen big leads disappear before so if Hodges missteps, look out for JT to silently cruise his way to a victory.

Top 10: David Lipsky (+215 DraftKings)

Lipsky is our risky pick of the day due to his volatility. We know he can go low on this course after firing a 64 on Friday, so I like Lipsky to continue that play. On the week, he’s near the top of the field in Fairways and Birdies Gained, while also gaining over four strokes with the putter through three rounds.

Top 20: Doug Ghim (-120 DraftKings)

Dougie Fresh is having an awesome week ball-striking. Through three rounds, Ghim is third Off-The-Tee and is leading the field in Fairways and Greens Gained. After a tough 74 in the opening round, Ghim righted the ship shooting 63 and 67 in rounds two and three. If he can be average with the putter today, Doug should easily cash us a top-20.
